Murder Suspect On The Loose After Escaping Police Custody In Brooklyn

The police are asking the public to help them find a murder suspect who, uh, escaped from the 78th Precinct early this morning.

According to the NYPD, they arrested Brandon Santana, 24, yesterday as a suspect in the 2010 murder of Alexander Santiago. While at the 78th, which is on 6th Avenue between Dean and Bergen Streets in Brooklyn, Santana somehow escaped. The police say, "As a result, one officer received minor injuries and is being treated at Methodist Hospital."

Santana is described as being 5'11 and about 200 pounds, with short black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a brown hooded jacket, blue jeans and white sneakers.
