A Staten Island man accused of stabbing a 54-year-old to death told reporters he was on drugs when he committed the crime. While waiting to enter court for his arraignment, 23-year-old Jahaad Chesson tried to tell his "side of the story," stating: "I was high as a mother [expletive] when I did it." Chesson—who has served two years behind bars for past robbery convictions—later said: "I didn't do nothing." He then claimed he had been told that he was high on drugs during the attack. Chesson also noted "it's hard out here for a pimp," and asked for treatment for his "mental problems." He added: "If there's a doctor that's gonna see this, come see me, I need help."

According to authorities, Chesson repeatedly stabbed Port Richmond resident Anthony Illidge after trying to break into his home late last month. After the attack, Chesson is accused of hiding the victim's body in a wooded area behind a fence. He is facing charges of murder, burglary, grand larceny, criminal possession of stolen property and tampering with physical evidence.
