The MTA is adorably optimistic that your evening commute will be business as usual, but enjoy it while it lasts, because tomorrow morning could be treacherous. Workers are currently "preparing for the forecasted mix of sleet, ice and freezing rain through" tonight, according to MTA spokesman Aaron Donovan, who adds, "With the storm moving into an ice and sleet phase, we expect that there will be some impacts on travel overnight and into tomorrow morning’s rush hour." To the weather situation room!

The MTA says each agency has "activated" its winter weather situation room to make sure they don't have another Blizzageddon repeat. Throughout the night, crews will inspect and clear ice from the rail and subway networks, and according to the MTA, "deicing trains will prep rails for the sleet and freezing rain which is forecast for the overnight hours." In addition, MTA "snowfighting" crews are out spreading salt along bus routes. In other words: BRING IT ON, February. We already stomped all over January (ignore those stubborn snow banks); let's see what you've got!
