So you know the South Carolina man who was arrested after tried to sneak through a subway entrance without paying the fare—and was found with a loaded Intratec Luger Tec-9 machine gun (plus extra ammunition)? It turns out he was trying to beat the fare because the Metrocard vending machine confused him!
The Post reports, "Reggie Allen told cops he tried to ride for free New Year’s Day after he was stumped by a MetroCard vending machine at the West 42nd Street station at Eighth Avenue, the source said." He also said that he stole the weapons in Washington D.C. and was bringing them to NYC to sell them!
According to the Daily News, Allen, who also had a .45-caliber handgun, "has several aliases and faces a slew of weapons charges [and also] had an open warrant for the manufacture and sale of drugs."
