Making it past airport TSA screening with that illegal substance that does not harm your lungs and has never killed anyone, is difficult but not impossible. But 43-year-old Adam Blumenkranz was arrested on a JetBlue flight from Fort Lauderdale to Newark for allegedly smoking dope. Crew members told the AP that they gave Blumenkranz the stink eye after he "dropped a clear plastic bag in the cabin."
Later, he emerged from the lavatory and a "strong smell of marijuana" exited with him. So much for JetBlue being the "cool" airline: we bet Richard Branson would've asked for a taste. Blumenkranz, a resident of Los Angeles, made the old "But I have a prescription for it from a doctor licensed by the state of California" excuse, but was charged with possession of marijuana and paraphernalia. Port Authority spokesman Albert Della Fave wants to make clear, "You just can’t do that on a commercial airline. You cannot smoke anything, regardless what the issue is."
When will the hippies learn that as long as Sheriff Obama is in town, their medicine is off-limits? In related news, the Union of Airline Passengers Against Aggressive Lavatory Door-Slamming has asked that Alec Baldwin be forced to smoke a marijuana cigarette prior to every flight.
