A man had his legs severed after he fell onto the subway tracks and was struck by a D train in the Bronx last night, making this the sixth subway-related incident in the last five days. According to FDNY, the incident happened just after 9:30 p.m. at the 161st Street-Yankee Stadium stop. Joey Boots, who was there at the time, captured photos and video of the aftermath of the incident, which you can see below.

FDNY added that the victim, whom Boots said "appeared to be Hispanic in his 40's-50's," was taken to Lincoln Hospital in serious condition; he is expected to live. An MTA source told the Post the man may have been intoxicated at the time: “He was drunk, he was intoxicated,” said one MTA worker. “He was sitting here and he fell down.” This is the second time this year someone has had their legs severed by a train.

On Wednesday, a man was fatally struck by an F train at the Roosevelt Avenue / 74th Street station in Jackson Heights; another man was injured after falling onto the tracks at Columbus Circle that day. On Thursday, another person was fatally struck by an F train in Queens, and on Friday, a man was struck by a 1 train on the Upper West Side. Then Friday evening, a man was fatally struck by a 2 train at Penn Station.
