[Update below] Planning on taking the 2, 3, 4 or 5 trains between Manhattan and Brooklyn? Maybe hold off a bit. Due to "problems caused by a manhole fire" inter-borough service on those lines is currently suspended. The MTA is "in the process of sending portable generators into the area and service will be resumed once they are deployed." Here's hoping it gets fixed before the big rush hour push!
Anyway, to be specific:
- There is no 2 train service in both directions from the Chambers Street Station to the Flatbush Avenue-Brooklyn College Station.
- There is no 3 train service in both directions from the Chambers Street Station to the New Lots Avenue Station.
- There is no 4 train service in both directions from the Bowling Green Station to the Utica Avenue-Crown Heights Station.
- There is no 5 train service in both directions from the Bowling Green Station to the Flatbush Avenue-Brooklyn College Station.
Oh, and also? At least as of 5 p.m., "Due to a police investigation at the Fulton Street Station, downtown A and C trains are running on the F line from the West 4th Street-Washington Square Station to the Jay Street-Metro Tech Station."
Update: As of 5:50 p.m. the MTA says that service has resumed on the 2, 3, 4 and 5 lines but riders should expect residual delays.
