Police are looking for a man who shoved an NYPD officer down the stairs last Friday at the Hoyt St. 2/3 subway station in Brooklyn.

According to police, officers were attempting to arrest the suspect around 11:15 a.m. for trying to steal a pair of sneakers from a nearby store. Instead, the suspect punched the officer in the face and pushed him down the subway stairs, leaving him with injuries to his head, back, hands and right arm. He was treated at a nearby hospital and released.

The suspect, meanwhile, is still on the loose. He's described by the NYPD as being a 6-foot-tall black male, roughly 190 pounds, with black eyes, a black beard and black hair. He was last seen wearing a black knit cap, white sneakers, dark pants and a black varsity jacket with red sleeves.
