The suspect wanted for the horrific murder of his girlfriend and their two daughters in Queens on Sunday was arrested at a checkpoint in Texas last night. Miguel Mejia-Ramos, 28, was picked up by U.S. Marshals at a roadblock in Schulenburg, Texas, between Houston and San Antonio. ABC 7 reports that he was arrested without incident in a vehicle with New York State license plates.

Investigators suspect Mejia-Ramos stabbed his girlfriend Deisy Garcia, 21, to death, as well as their two daughters, two-year-old daughter Daniela Mejia and one-year-old daughter Yeslin Mejia. All three victims were found in a bedroom in Jamaica, Queens Sunday night, dead from stab wounds to the torso or chest. A 12-year-old boy who was related to Garcia reportedly discovered the bodies.

Garcia's friends say Mejia-Ramos was physically abusive, but she did not report the abuse to the police because she was an illegal immigrant from Guatemala and feared she would be deported. Nevertheless, Garcia did call police to the Queens residence twice last year, NYPD sources tell the Post, but Mejia-Ramos was never arrested.
