Man charged with murder for killing his wife in their Bay Ridge home, NYPD says

A Bay Ridge man has been arrested in the killing of his wife.

Maria Ines Granda, 59, suffered head trauma in her apartment on Monday. First responders found her unconscious and unresponsive, and she was pronounced dead at the scene.

The NYPD announced Ines Granda’s husband Mauricio Granda, a 47-year-old who lived in the apartment with Maria, was arrested Tuesday evening. Mauricio has been charged with murder.

Mauricio was found by Maria’s son on Monday in Sunset Park, near 7th Avenue and 52nd Street.

Police said the investigation remains ongoing, and that the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has not yet determined her cause of death.
