A 20-year-old man was arrested for shooting two women on West 34th Street early Monday morning during the Midtown "wilding" that began on Easter night. According to the Post, Rayvon Guice was "charged with assault and weapons possession. Guice, who has a tattoo on his neck that reads, 'God's Gift,' has eight prior arrests, including on weapons and drugs charges, police sources said."

The two women who Guice allegedly shot were not seriously injured—one was shot in the elbow, the other the thigh—and police say that they have leads in the West 41st Street shooting of a man (a woman was hit in the face by BB gun pellets in a third incident). The Manhattan DA's office is not offering any plea deals to the dozens arrested and D.A. Cy Vance, who actually watched the arraignments, which is unusual for the top prosecutor, said, "New York cannot take one step backward in our fight to keep our streets safe. My office is extremely concerned about the threat to public safety ... and we will treat these cases with the attention and seriousness they deserve."

But some of the arrestees said they were swept up in the mayhem. Gary Best told the Daily News, "I wasn't doing anything. [The police] just came and grabbed me... It was crazy how they handled it. They took hold of anybody they could grab."

And apparently some of the hundreds of youths who allegedly took part in the Easter night violence bragged about it on Twitter: "WENT MOBBING ON 42 . . . WAT YU DOIN TODAY."
