A Queens man is facing murder and weapons charges for allegedly killing his father in their home late Saturday night, according to NYPD officials.
Police said 25-year-old Carl Muraco was arrested Sunday morning after officers found his father, 76-year-old John Muraco, fatally stabbed in their house on 102nd Street near 159th Avenue in Howard Beach.
Detectives on Monday were still investigating the motive behind the attack, and a judge ordered Muraco held without bail at his arraignment in Queens Criminal Court. His lawyer could not immediately be reached for comment.
Police also said they were still looking for whomever shot a woman to death at her East Elmhurst home Friday night. Officers found 21-year-old Dashanna Donovan around 9:30 p.m. with a gunshot wound to her head in her building on 96th Street near Astoria Boulevard.
Donovan was pronounced dead at the scene. Police did not have a description of a possible motive as of early Tuesday, but said they were looking for a man who was last seen wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, black pants, black sneakers and a black bookbag.
