Federal authorities have arrested "top members of the computer hacking group LulzSec... Five people with the group were either under arrest or being sought, the official said. The details of the allegations weren't immediately available, but were expected to be made public in court documents being unsealed Tuesday morning," according to the AP. And what's more, the feds were tipped off by Anonymous "mastermind" Sabu.

According to Fox News, "The offshoot of the loose network of hackers, Anonymous, believed to have caused billions of dollars in damage to governments, international banks and corporations, was allegedly led by a shadowy figure FoxNews.com has identified as Hector Xavier Monsegur. Working under the Internet alias 'Sabu,' the unemployed, 28-year-old father of two allegedly commanded a loosely organized, international team of perhaps thousands of hackers from his nerve center in a public housing project on New York’s Lower East Side. After the FBI unmasked Monsegur last June, he became a cooperating witness, sources told FoxNews.com."

The five hackers to be charged today at believed to be "Ryan Ackroyd, aka 'Kayla' and Jake Davis, aka 'Topiary,' both of London; Darren Martyn, aka 'pwnsauce' and Donncha O’Cearrbhail, aka 'palladium,' both of Ireland; and Jeremy Hammond aka 'Anarchaos,' of Chicago." Gawker's Adrian Chen writes, "Who knows how many other Anons Sabu has snitched on. Just last week, he urged hackers to come forward with "data to publish (big dumps, source codes, cache of documents, etc). Sabu was a linchpin of Anonymous, and there are going to be a lot of worried hackers out there today."
