Sources tell TMZ that football legend Lawrence Taylor will be claiming an onanism defense regarding charges that he raped a 16-year-old prostitute at a Suffern, NY Holiday Inn. The gossip site reports, "We're told Lawrence will not deny he was in the same room as the 16-year-old prostitute, but his lawyer will argue Lawrence did not have sexual intercourse -- an element of third degree rape. As one source put it, Lawrence engaged in a 'masturbatory act' and that was it."
Taylor's lawyer told reporters that his client didn't have sex or rape anyone, while a criminal complaint against the teen's pimp says that Taylor told cops he paid $300 for sex. TMZ notes that NY law states, "A person is guilty of rape in the third degree when ... he or she engages in sexual intercourse with another person less than seventeen years old."
The victim told the Daily News, "He paid me $300 cash to have sex with him. I got it over with as quickly as I could. Afterward, all he said was turn off the TV before you leave." She added, "I was a huge Giant fan, and I used to look up to him... I don't want to ruin his reputation."
