- Nets 106 Knicks 101: Some sloppy ball handling doomed New York in the end. Both teams traded baskets in the fourth quarter, with neither team able to take a significant lead. That changed when Larry Hughes coughed it up with about a minute left and the Nets converted to make it a three-point game. The Knicks couldn’t recover and they didn’t threaten again.
Devin Harris had 35 points for New Jersey while Vince Carter added 25. David Lee had another double-double with 19 points and 14 rebounds to lead New York.
- Rangers 4 Boston 3: It was the first game back on the Garden ice for Sean Avery and the MSG debuts of Derek Morris and Nik Antropov. Despite blowing a 3-1 lead, the Rangers made it a success. Avery had an assist and made his presence felt. Antropov had two points and Morris added an assist. Henrik Lundqvist came up huge, stopping 36 shots, including 21 in the third period.
- Islanders 3 Phoenix 2: Yann Danis had another huge game stopping 40 shots and New York used a three-goal second period to get the win.
