- Rangers 3, Devils 1: With 41 saves, Henrik Lundqvist was able to stop the Devils and Ilya Kovalchuk, who played in his second game with this new team. Lundqvist stopped Kovalchuk eight times in the game, which was only the second win for New York in its last nine games. The Rangers did all its scoring in the 2nd period, when Marian Gaborik, Ryan Callahan and Chris Drury each lit the lamp in under three minutes. The win put the Rangers in a tie with the Flyers for 8th place in the Eastern Conference.
- Cavaliers 113, Knicks 106: You gotta hand it to the Knicks — they actually outscored Cleveland in two quarters and tied them in another. Too bad they trailed the Cavs by 20 points after the 1st quarter. Cleveland, which scored 74 points (!!) in the first half, won its 11th straight game, and were led by LeBron James and his 47 points. A measly 47 against the Knicks by LeBron. If that's not the mark of complacency, we don't know what is.
- Hurricanes 3, Islanders 1: Congratulations to Justin Peters of the Hurricanes who won his first NHL start. Peters, who was just promoted from the AHL this week, extended the Islanders losing streak to seven.
- Pistons 99, Nets 92: The Nets playing and losing is no longer noteworthy. Then again, they are on pace to set the NBA record for losses in a season.
