  • Raptors 109, Nets 91: If this is a sneak preview at life after Jason Kidd, it wasn't pretty. Well, even if this isn't a sneak preivew, it wasn't pretty. The Nets never led and trailed by as many as 30 north of the border. Then they got word that the Kidd deal may not be done yet. Thanks to the veto of Devean George, who was in the deal to balance out contracts and not because of his basketball ability, the teams have hit a snag. The Nets would be wise to try to work something out with Dallas. They're not going to get packages better than the one the Mavericks offered to send over.

  • Celtics 111, Knicks 103: Isiah Thomas' ejection from this game isn't remarkable. That he hasn't gotten ejected from more games this season is. Who would want to watch this team? The good news: The Knicks scored almost double the points they scored when they lost 104-59 back in November. Defense was the problem in this game, especially in the second quarter. Remember, the 41-9 Celtics were playing without Kevin Garnett, who is missing time with an abdominal muscle injury.

  • Devils 3, Senators 2 (OT): Brian Gionta put on in the net in overtime as the Devils rewarded Martin Brodeur for his 16th straight start. Patrik Elias, thinking it was better to give than to receive, had three assists.
