- Yankees 4 Baltimore 1: No Jorge, no problem for the Yankees as Francisco Cervelli did it all for the Yankees Tuesday. Cervelli went 3-for-3, scored two runs and made a fantastic catch in support of AJ Burnett. AJ was pretty good himself, lasting into the eighth inning and striking out 8 to improve to 4-0 on the season. With Mariano still overcoming a slight strain, Joba closed the game for his second-straight save.
- Mets 5 Cincinnati 4: Rod Barajas was the hero as he hit a home run to break up a 4-4 tie in the ninth. Barajas’ blast bailed out the Mets bullpen, which couldn’t hold a 4-2 lead costing John Maine the chance to win his second game of the year. Maine had his second-straight good start, a very positive development for New York. K-Rod pitched a perfect ninth for his fourth save of the year.
