NYU's Dr. Christine Ren-Fielding admitted yesterday that some of the doctors employed at the weight-loss surgery clinic where Jets coach Rex Ryan underwent lap-band surgery were unlicensed. According to the Post, "Ren-Fielding -- whose husband, Dr. George Fielding, performed 'Lap-Band' surgery on Ryan in March -- made the stunning admissions at a trial over claims the couple had another assistant canned for blowing the whistle on alleged sub-standard, post-op care at their high-profile program." Her lawyer Mercedes Colwin insists no one was in danger because the surgeries were heavily supervised; Dr. Christine Ren-Felding didn't comment, only saying, "NYU will be very mad with me."
