Maybe it's so that a lucky few can catch LCD Soundsystem this weekend sans subway stress, or maybe it's an early Easter present (do people get presents for Easter?), but the MTA is taking a break from the past weeks' slew of subway changes and keeping things comparatively simple this weekend. Just eight lines have service changes, and though a couple of them look a little wonky (the R is becoming the D, and then the M?), things look like they'll be relatively calm. So subway your little heart out, before we inevitably return to the hellscape that is weekends with 14-plus changes.
Here's what to expect this weekend:
3 trains aren't running in either direction between 148 St and 96 St from 11:45 p.m. on Friday to 5 a.m. on Monday. Free shuttle buses will run between 135 and 148 St, with a stop at 145 St. Also, from 11:45 p.m. on Friday to 5 a.m. on Monday, 3 service will replace 4 service in Brooklyn, running between 96 St and New Lots Av.
4 trains will run locally in both directions between 125 St and Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall from 12:01 a.m. on Saturday to 5 a.m. on Monday. And 4 trains won't run in either direction between New Lots Av/Crown Hts-Utica Av and Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall from 11:45 p.m. on Friday to 5 a.m. on Monday (they'll be replaced by 3 service).
5 trains aren't running in either direction between Bowling Green and Grand Central-42 St from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday and from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Sunday.
Jamaica-179 St-bound F trains will be rerouted via the M line from 47-50 Sts to Roosevelt Av, from 11:30 p.m. on Friday to 5 a.m. on Monday.

Q trains will run local between 57 St-7 Av and Canal St, from 11:30 p.m. on Friday to 5 a.m. on Monday.
R trains will be rerouted via the D line between DeKalb Av and B'way-Lafayette St, and via the M between B'way-LaFayette St and Queens Plaza, from 6:30 a.m. to 12 midnight on Saturday and Sunday.
And a bonus bit of good news for you: if you've been peeved by how 3 and 4 trains have been skipping Rockaway Av and Van Siclen Av every day for weeks now, that's about to change. Starting Monday at 5 a.m., the trains will resume stops at those stations in both directions.
