Rumors have been swirling for weeks now that Apple won't be sticking to its existing iPhone release schedule this year. Most Apple-watcher now seem to agree that the fifth-generation iPhone won't be ready until the fall. But that doesn't mean that Apple doesn't have plans to throw the faithful a bone with a new iPhone. Just not an iPhone 5. Anybody want to buy a white iPhone 4 without having to turn to a shy kid in Queens?
Bloomberg BusinessWeek is reporting that Apple is preparing to finally start selling a white iPhone 4 model, ten months after it was supposed to go on sale. Originally intended to be sold alongside the black iPhone 4, unspecified manufacturing troubles delayed its release. Eventually it was taken off of Apple's iPhone webpage, and last week SKU codes for the white phone were removed from the Apple Store entirely.
Bloomberg's sources say the new white iPhone will be hitting stores in "a few weeks," which sound about right considering this tweet from Apple's marketing VP Phil Shiller.
