We've all had our fair share of less-than-stellar nights at the bar, but it's always good to avoid making a few simple mistakes: don't try to get high in the bathroom, don't start a fight with the bartender, don't call 911 on yourself, and definitely don't lie down on the pool table. Because if you do, you might very well end up in the newspaper.
We don't mean to pick on Cornelius Cottrell, who was caught doing all the things above, but we do think it's a good case study for everyone getting a bit too tipsy on a Wednesday night/Thursday morning at the local watering hole. Cottrell was spotted getting high in the bathroom by Greg Abelinas, the bartender at R. Bar in Williamsburg. "We started arguing, he inched up closer, I told him to back up, and he took a swing at me," Abelinas told the Post.
Likely in a state best described as "blotto," Cottrell called 911 to report an assault, then laid down on a pool table, refusing to leave. He was of course busted by the very police he called soon after. So learn from Cornelius Cottrell's mistakes: always get high in the alley, and never, ever mess with the pool table.
