Working in the service industries is never easy—just ask some delivery guys—but it sure can be funny. Having seen our fair share of Fawlty Towers, we knew that hotels could be hotbeds of humor, but the truly absurd questions that appear on the Guests From Hell Twitter feed really hammer the point home: "Is there a 9/11 gift shop?"
The anonymous feed has been offering "horror stories from the hotel industry" since last August and we'd love to know what hotel he or she is working in...because we'd like to do our best to avoid anyplace where the guests seek out lounges for "upper-middle class people" and wonder "Are there any restaurants in Brooklyn?"
Here are a few (there were so many) of our other favorites from the feed, including:
- "Can we go all the way inside lady of freedom?"
- "Why is it raining?"
- "There is a restaurant on Broadway that looks like this (makes a swoosh with her hand). Can you make us a reservation there?"
- "Last time we were here, we went to an Italian restaurant in Times Square. Do you know which one I'm talking about?"
- "We want to go shopping at Ground Zero."
- "We'd like a seafish restaurant that has food other than seafish."
- "If we book a helicopter tour, will the helicopter pick us up from the hotel?"
- "Where can we go in Harlem to see the negros?"
And that right there people? That is why we try very hard to never speak to the hotel concierge (or really anyone in a hotel) when we travel. [via Eater National]
