After being arrested for drunk driving last week, Hofstra's brand new basketball coach Tim Welsh has resigned. Hofstra issued a statement, "The University accepted the resignation in the best interests of the university and of the men's basketball program." Welsh, who had signed a $3 million, five-year deal, had a blood alcohol level of 0.18, more than twice the legal limit of 0.08. The Post reports, "Hofstra athletic director Jack Hayes now has to hire a coach for the second time in five weeks." Is this some kind of karmic payback for sacking the football program?
