Gov. Andrew Cuomo is hoping to bring gay marriage to a vote by the summer, but until then, maybe we can learn something from the cats. Bruno and Solomon, two male felines who reside at Ollie's Place, a no-kill cat shelter on E 26th Street, became the first same-sex married cat couple this week!

Really, Ollie's Place wanted to ensure that the two cats didn't get separated by adoption, and to raise awareness for the cat shelter. Which doesn't necessarily explain why they needed their own gift registry, but you know what? We'll go with it. All those gay animals who've had to be content with domestic partnerships now have had their day. Hopefully Bruno and Solomon's love will last longer than Silo and Roy's.
