Some scary but good news for Hillary Clinton: doctors say the blood clot that has kept the Secretary of State hospitalized since Sunday is located in her head, but she is still expected to make a full recovery.
There had been a lot of speculation circulating as to the location of the clot, since clots in the brain and lung are much more serious than a common leg clot. But Clinton's doctors said yesterday that though the clot had formed in a vein between her brain and her skull stemming from the concussion Clinton suffered a few weeks ago, there was no neurological damage and they are "confident she will make a full recovery." "She is in good spirits, engaging with her doctors, her family and her staff," Dr. Lisa Bardack and Dr. Gigi El-Bayoumi, the physicians treating Clinton at New York Presbyterian this week, told the Times.
And though Clinton's gotten flack from conspiracy theorists who accuse her of faking her illnesses to get out of testifying about last year's Benghazi attack, she's also gotten a lot of support from well-wishers. The Post, which mocked Clinton last month for postponing her testimony in Congress because of her initial concussion, ran an editorial today offering prayers for her swift recovery.
"Despite our differences with her and assorted controversies when she and her husband, Bill Clinton, were in the White House, Hillary Clinton has proven herself a savvy politician and dedicated public servant in her own right," the editorial said. "Get well soon, Hillary."
As of today, Clinton is still at the hospital, and husband Bill and daughter Chelsea spent yesterday at her bedside.
