We know that Giants co-owner and movie producer Steve Tisch has been trying to ramp up the star power for the Giants sidelines. After Ashton Kutcher, Demi Moore and Cameron Diaz were seen at a game last fall, Tisch told the NY Times, he brings "the spices, the taste, the flavor" to the Giants (if the Giants experience were a soup; the other co-owners, the Maras, would bring the meat and potatoes).
This past weekend, Tisch, who has produced films like Forrest Gump, The Pursuit of Happyness and the upcoming remake of The Taking of Pelham 123, and the Giants were celebrated by a number of celebrities in Los Angeles. Friday Night Lights producer Peter Berg hosted a party with guests like Jamie Foxx, Tom Arnold and Zach Braff. And, of course, actress Kate Mara (granddaughter of the late Wellington Mara; her dad Chris is VP of Player Evaluation) was present. We're glad the Giants have their celebrity fans and all, but we have to admit, we're sort nauseous after seeing Mark McGrath in a Giants jersey.
Still, it's not enough to make us nervous about this weekend. Tisch told the Journal News' Ernie Palladino that many celebrity Giants fans will be headed to Arizona for some Super Bowl festivities and that if he cast the Giants for a movie, here's who would play whom: Ed Harris would be Tom Coughlin, Eli Manning would be played by Leonardo DiCaprio, Michael Strahan by Will Smith and Antonio Pierce by Jamie Foxx.
