Georgina Bloomberg, the equestrian daughter of Mayor Bloomberg, just had her latest young adult book hit bookstores/Amazon.com on Tuesday (think Gossip Girl but way less oversexed aimed at the horse-mad who will eventually read Riders) so she's doing interviews! In a chat with Manhattan Magazine, she finally clears up her famously pouty statement, "Having the last name Bloomberg sucks."
The young Bloomberg said as much in the documentary Born Rich, the 2003 look at the children of really rich people (you can see it below). Now, she says, "People forget that I was 18 when I said that! That was 11 years ago. My dad had just become mayor, and I was a little shell-shocked.... I’m proud of my last name now."
Some other tidbits: She wants to train for the 2016 Olympics, she expects to have five kids ("Two adopted and three of my own") and hates "Anyone who doesn’t like dogs;"—HMM—"loud, egotistical people; yoga."
