Forget about the score and the amazing ratings—if there is one fact you need to know about the Super Bowl this weekend it is this: after the game ended, so many people evacuated themselves in our fair city that water usage spiked 13 percent, a jump so big it caused the water level in the 30-foot-deep Hillview Reservoir in Yonkers to drop 2 inches. That's a whole lot of bowl bombing!

"This was certainly a significant jump—especially for around 10 p.m. on Sunday night. It’s only going to happen on the Super Bowl," Jim Roberts, deputy commissioner for the city’s DEP, gushed to the Post.

While the game was going, water use in the city was down seven percent from the previous (non-football) week. It bumped back up four percent at the end of the second quarter...before dumping back down again just as Madonna was about to hit the stage. Then, as the game continued, water usage kept dropping. By the time Mario Manningham made his sideline catch usage was down 9.6 percent from the week before. And then everyone went and took the Browns to the Super Bowl at once.

And now you know!
