A very spring-like storm system is moving across the Great Lakes today and that will provide us with rain and possibly a thunderstorm early this afternoon. The low is centered over Lake Ontario and is dragging a cold front eastward across Pennsylvania and New Jersey this morning. The front looks like it will arrive here in the mid- to late-afternoon. Before the front passes we should have a mild and humid day with a high in the mid 60s. Heat plus humidity plus a cold front adds up to rain with light showers likely before noon followed by a line of heavy showers or thunderstorms into the early afternoon.

The atmosphere will dry out pretty quickly once the front passes, making for very pleasant weekend weather. Tomorrow should be sunny with a high in the mid 50s. A few clouds will appear on Sunday but the high will again be in the mid 50s, which is about average for late March.

An upper-level disturbance arriving on the west coast today is expected to be our weather maker on Monday, but the details on what that means are still pretty sketchy. Let's just say Monday is looking rainy with the temperature remaining in the mid 50s.
