Lots of record highs across the region yesterday. Newark led the pack with a high of 85 degrees and the 83 at JFK shattered their old record by ten degrees. With a high of 82 Central Park fell four degrees short of its warmest April 9th. The front that has stayed to our north the past couple of days is getting all loosey-goosey. As it moves south it will put an end to the unusually warm weather and perhaps bring a few scattered showers or thunderstorms this evening. We're looking at an early afternoon high in the 70s but the temperature will quickly drop into the mid 60s by early evening.

As the front moves to our south the winds will start coming out of the northeast and, well, the ocean is cold this time of year. Thursday's high will only reach the mid 50s under cloudy skies and maybe some periods of light rain. Friday isn't going to be any warmer and we're likely to be in for a good, soaking rain as a storm moves up the coast. There has yet to be any measurable precipitation this month so maybe it is about time.

The weekend is looking good for most outdoor activities. High pressure should move in soon after Friday's storm departs and that will bring lots of clear skies. A few clouds Saturday morning will give way to sun later in the day. Saturday's high looks to be right around 60, which is normal for this time of year. Sunday might be a couple degrees cooler.
