Several people were hospitalized on Friday, including three pedestrians, following a multi-vehicle crash in Brooklyn, police said.
The incident happened at the intersection of Campus Road and Bedford Avenue at around 11:30 a.m. Police did not have any information about the circumstances of the crash, but said it involved two vehicles.
Three pedestrians were taken to the hospital, along with both drivers. A spokesperson for the FDNY said that two of the injuries were serious, while the others appeared minor. All are non-life-threatening, according to police.
Photos and videos from the scene show a totaled sedan that appears to have jumped the curb and slammed into a light pole on Campus Road. Some have speculated that the victims may have been students, as both Brooklyn College and Midwood High School are just steps from the site of the incident.
A total of 91 pedestrians have been killed on city streets this year, representing a more than 10 percent increase from this time last year, according to data shared by the Department of Transportation.
