An 11-year veteran of the FDNY died in the line of duty Saturday after responding to an “all-hands fire” in Brooklyn, Mayor Eric Adams said.

According to the FDNY, firefighter Patrick D. Brady was working on the roof of 9407 Kings Highway near Brownsville when he suffered a medical episode and went into cardiac arrest. Officials said he was treated by his colleagues before he was rushed to Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center and died.

“Firefighter Patrick Brady gave his life protecting the city we all love; there is no sacrifice that is more selfless than the actions that took place this evening,” Adams said in a statement. “I would like to express my deepest sympathy to his wife, Kara, and his entire family during this difficult time.”

FDNY Commissioner Robert S. Tucker said in a statement that the entire department is heartbroken over his death.

Brady joined the FDNY in 2014. Both his brothers, Jimmy and Brian, and his cousins and uncles are FDNY firefighters.

“Firefighter Brady came from a family of firefighters — all dedicated to protecting the lives of their fellow New Yorkers,” Adams said.

The FDNY said Brady is the 1,163rd member of the department to die in the line of duty. The last member was Paramedic Salih Abdur Rahman, a 23-year veteran of the department who died on Oct. 29 after finishing a shift at the FDNY Fire Academy on Randall’s Island.
