Real estate developer and former NY Post owner Peter Kalikow has kept a low profile after resigning as MTA Chairman. But now he's back in the news—because his 27-year-old daughter was arrested for "hawking heroin on Craigslist in the Bronx."
According to the Post, Kathryn Kalikow was "arrested for drug possession along with boyfriend Bryn Whalen at 11:30 p.m.at a residence on Hoffman Street, sources said. The pair were allegedly found with a large quantity of heroin after advertising their goods on Craigslist." She was charged with criminal possession of a narcotic drug and criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Peter Kalikow's personal net worth was, at the time of a 2004 New York magazine profile, $500 million, complete with multimillion-dollar car collections ($6.5 million Ferrari, anyone?). He once complained about the newspaper business—he bought the NY Post in 1988 and got rid of it when he declared bankruptcy in 1993—"In a newspaper you can work 300 hours a week and it still won’t make a difference."
