According to police, eight people were injured in a three car accident in Midtown last night. The accident occurred at the intersection of 42nd Street and Avenue of the Americas just after 9 p.m. on Saturday. Pedestrians were horrified by the scene: "Just saw the worst car accident of my life infront of Bryant Park. I hope the people are okay," tweeted Taylor Pugliese. "3 car wreck in Times Square.1 car overturned. How in the name of Christ can that happen? I've never traveled over 3mph in the 'asshole of NY,'" tweeted Noam De Plume.

Police say a black Jaguar heading westbound on 42nd Street struck a gray Chevrolet Impala waiting at the traffic light. The impact caused the Impala to hit a taxicab with two people inside. The Jaguar lost control, toppling over on its side on the sidewalk, hitting at least four pedestrians. “I heard people yelling, ‘Help! Help! Help!’ It sounded bad, really bad,” Mohamed Bahieldin, who runs a Halal food cart right next to the accident, told the Post.

FDNY Chief Thomas Jemmott told them a nurse went into the Jaguar to tend to the driver who suffered serious head injuries. “She was a good Samaritan, holding him up, keeping him from further injuring himself as the firemen were back boarding him,” he said. No criminality is suspected, and police said all the victims were expected to survive.
