We've theorized since 27-year-old Ridgewood, Queens driver Miodrag Mejdina decided not to press charges against Naomi Campbell, that he was somehow talked into it. Like how money talks, and Campbell's boyfriend is billionaire Vlad Doronin. Now the NY Post pretty much confirms, being told by a police source that he was bullied out of filing assault charges.
Campbell allegedly struck Mejdina in the back of his head with her cell phone on Tuesday while he was driving, sending his face into the steering wheel and leaving him with a black eye. He pulled over and she fled the scene, while he called the cops. After spending the afternoon at the 17th Precinct, he decided not to file charges after all. While there he received a phone call from his limo company (which is hired by Campbell's boyfriend), and when officers asked if he was getting pressure not to charge, he said "Yes." The police sources also say they think money was involved.
And then came what the paper calls a "well-scripted kiss-and-make-up," which had the victim apologizing to his assaulter. Campbell responded to the apology quickly, saying in part, "I will not be held hostage to my past. I try to treat everyone with respect and I am pleased the driver has apologized."
