Ed Wynn Rivera, the 22-year-old man with cerebral palsy who was abandoned on a freezing bus for 17 hours, returned home from the hospital yesterday. His family, thrilled that he's safe, spoke to WCBS 2 about finding him. His father Elmer Rivera said when he went to the bus depot and asked two workers to look for him one came "back with tears in her eyes" because she found him and they broke into the bus and took of their coats to warm him up. Additionally, a CAT scan showed foam in his system—his sister said he had eaten foam and vinyl from the bus seat during his ordeal. The bus matron who was responsible for noticing Rivera was still on the bus (she allegedly did know he was there when she left) has been charged with reckless endangerment.
