Wow, Brooklyn City Councilman Stephen Levin had a really bad Sunday. Not only was his Boerum Hill office broken into at the crack of dawn but, in a separate incident, the pol's car got stolen off the streets of Greenpoint, as well! So while we were prepping for the Oscars, Levin was spending "hours doing police reports." Fun times?
On the plus side, nothing was stolen from Levin's office, as police nabbed the perp—a 22-year-old named Louis Adule—before he could get away with the flat-screen TV and computer monitors he was trying to lug away. Apparently Levin or a member of his staff had forgotten to close the security grate in front of the office and Adule used a potted plant to smash the window around 4:25 a.m. A woken neighbor alerted the police and now Adule is in prison with bail set at $3,500.
As for Levin's 2000 Honda Civic, it hasn't been seen again. But Levin gave the Post a message for whomever took it: "Please return my car. I'm really fond of that car. It's a good car."
