On March 13, up-and-coming rapper G Baby (pictured) was fatally shot at Archer Avenue and 143rd Street, a few blocks away from a nightclub. Now the Daily News reports that police are looking into a possible link between Fabolous and the shooting, though cops "aren't sure what role, if any, the Brooklyn rapper might have played in the March killing, but a surveillance video shows Fabolous leaving Club Amazura seconds before a mystery gunman blasted Greg (G-Baby) Brown in the back."
Prior to the shooting, G Baby opened for Fabolous's headlining show at Club Amazura. Apparently the two men had a "longstanding beef," but former "hip-hop cop" Derrick Parker says he heard they "squashed all of that." Fabolous Tweeted about G Baby's death, "Live Life to the fullest, & like there is no 2moro ... Lost a soldier in the field this morning..R.I.P. G. Baby." Others, including G Baby's mentor Memphis Bleek, also mournted the 22-year-old's death on Twitter.
There are no suspects, but back in March, the NYPD told MTV News it was believed the shooting stemmed from an incident in the club. Brown's mother told the News, "My son was going to talk to Fab in a car, and he got shot three times. I don't know what's going on. I just want to know who killed my son," later adding, "I don't want to talk to Fabolous. I want whoever did this to pay."
