A 23-year-old woman was struck by a SUV on West 46th Street at 3 a.m. yesterday—and police believe that the man who hit her was her boyfriend, because they found eventually the suspected hit-and-run driver, Ricaury Pena, in a wrecked Honda Pilot on the Harlem River Drive at 8 a.m. And the Post thickens the pilot: Pena, 28, was driving his wife's car.

Police believe the 23-year-old woman, who is now in critical condition, may have argued with Bronx resident Pena. The Daily News reports, "Investigators are still piecing together what led to the chaotic scene, but witnesses said the victim was working at the El Tequilazo bar in the moments before she was injured. She was sent flying after she was struck by the Honda - which had a customized Superman theme on its front bumper and [Pena] behind the wheel, witnesses and police sources said. Investigators could not say if the man deliberately ran over his girlfriend, or if she fell after trying to hold onto the car." A witness said the women's top was torn off, "She was just lying there. It looked like someone just threw her out in the street." Another told the News, "[The driver] was flying. He was haulin.'"

Pena was charged with drunk driving and vehicular assault. The car is registered in his wife's name; Pena's father-in-law told the Post that Pena works a night shift as a security guard, "He never looks for trouble. I've only known him as the husband of my daughter, and nothing else."
