Police are looking for a person who abandoned a malnourished pit bull puppy in a suitcase this week.

Cops say that they were alerted to the suitcase on Thursday around 12:30 p.m., when a passerby noticed it at the Melrose Housing Development at 700 Morris Avenue in The Bronx. The malnourished, 1-year-old male brown pit bull was inside the suitcase, which was in a dumpster in the rear of the housing complex. Officers took him to the ASPCA, where he is currently receiving veterinary care for malnourishment.
