The police say that they managed to arrest three people suspected of robbing a couple on Central Park West last night. And one of the suspects had a loaded .380 caliber semi-automatic handgun.
According to the NYPD, at around 9:40 p.m., police officers responded to a 911 call about a robbery near 320 Central Park West. The victims, a 22-year-old man and 23-year-old woman, said they were in Central Park when they were approached near the reservoir by three males who demanded their wallets and cell phones—one of whom showed them a gun. The victims handed over their wallets, plus three cell phones, and were not injured.
The cops sent descriptions of the suspects over their radio and five minutes later, plain clothes officers from the Manhattan North Anti-Crime Unit stopped three suspects fitting the description. The victims positively identified the suspects, who were ages 16 to 20 and were arrested and charged with robbery 1, robbery 2, criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of stolen property.
On Friday, the police asked for the public's assistance in identifying an ice pick-wielding man who punched and robbed a person in Central Park.
