The police arrested three teens for the fatal mugging of a Queens woman last week. Rabia Mohammed, 23, apparently refused to give up her purse, which held $20 in cash, an iPod and her cell phone, and she was shot in the heart. The suspects are 16 and 17 years old and will be charged with second-degree murder, robbery and possession of a criminal weapon, but one's mother spoke to the Post, "He told me, ‘Mommy, I just didn’t do it’ ... but they’re trying to pin me with murder. I didn’t kill no one.'"
The teens, Tiyquon Hodges, 16, Corey Brown, 17, and Ian Green, 17, were arrested in connection with a St. Patrick's Day robbery which occurred in the same area as the fatal mugging; according to the News, "After a lengthy stationhouse grilling, the three were charged in connection with the fatal stickup of Mohammed, but Hodges was hit only with robbery raps. Green admitted to the killing, according to prosecutors, but told cops it was an accident because he thought the gun's safety mechanism was on."
Mohammed's husband, Shazam Khan, believes his wife was trying to save the cellphone, which held sentimental texts they sent each other.
