An NYPD officer accidentally shot a woman in the neighboring Brooklyn apartment where a raid was going on early this morning. The officer was participating in a drug raid in a third floor apartment at 3003 Clarendon Road when he accidentally fired his weapon just before 8 a.m, shooting a 25-year-old woman in the apartment below.
The victim was rushed to Kings County Hospital in stable condition—FDNY tells us the woman suffered an arm injury. The officer, assigned to Brooklyn South Narcotics, was uninjured in the incident. Last year, a police officer who was attempting to execute a warrant for a Bronx resident accidentally shot that resident's 76-year-old father. There have also been several instances of cop's shooting themselves by mistake.
