In a scene that is becoming frighteningly familiar, a Connecticut man died early Sunday morning after being shot by a police officer's Taser. The man, whose name hasn't been released, was unruly and "causing a disturbance" at Saint Mary's Hospital in Waterbury, was arrested and placed into the back of a police car where he "continued to act belligerent."

After being rendered unconscious by the Taser, he was taken back into the hospital where he was unable to be resuscitated. "An autopsy was planned to determine the cause of death," but perhaps it may be time to remove Tasers from the list of "non-lethal" weapons, especially considering a UN committee's designating them as a "form of torture that can kill."
