On Friday, a city employee was arrested for allegedly exposing himself to an 11-year-old girl in Harlem last month. Andrew McFall, who works for the city’s Department of Youth and Community Development, was charged with public lewdness and endangering the welfare of a child. Now authorities say he was masturbating in front of the girl: “You have a nice ass,” McFall allegedly said to the girl before fleeing.

The 41-year-old allegedly followed the child along West 120th Street, flashing the little girl outside Public School 81 around 7:30 a.m. on Dec. 20. The police found surveillance video showing the well-dressed suspect, and distributed his picture. This week, they received a tip about the suspect, and arrested him Friday morning outside his Riverdale home.

“The agency received notification Friday afternoon that an employee had been arrested,” Youth Department spokesman Heriberto Barbot said. “The employee was immediately placed on leave without pay pending the results of this process.” McFall is the director of Youth Connect, a program run in city schools to connect kids to jobs and after-school activities—but officials were quick to note he “supervised staff at a call center and did not work directly with children.”

McFall, who has a six-year-old son, also previously worked for the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club and in Harlem. A neighbor described him as very friendly: “I think everybody likes him,” said Sue Holbrook. “He dresses very nice in suits and drops his kid off at school on Mondays.” You can read his consultant profile and some of his articles here.
