A teen who was arrested among many during the Easter Night "wilding" in Times Square pleaded guilty to a reduced charge. Initially Leroy-Jama Wigfall was charged with "charged with felony assault for allegedly spraining one officer's wrist and giving a second cop a concussion during his arrest." But it turned out another teen, his friend Jermaine Parker, did that—Wigfall copped to resisting arrest when "an arresting officer cufffed him at the corner of Eighth Ave. and 42nd St."
According to the police statements, Wigfall told police, "I got maced, and stuff came out of my nose... The officer was moving the barricade and I just went around the other way and then they tackled me. I just wanted to go further down the street. I didn't resist them or try to fight with them."
A man who allegedly fired a gun during the melee, hitting two men, has pleaded not guilty.
