According to court papers Ann Pettway confessed yesterday to kidnapping Carlina White and raising her as her own. According to FBI agent Maria Johnson's complaint Pettway expressed guilt for the kidnapping, and explained that she took the baby from Harlem Hospital after a series of miscarriages had led her to believe she would never have children of her own. Her arraignment is later this afternoon and her lawyer is not expected to request bail.
