The older brother of a Dallas Cowboys wide receiver was shot in Queens last night. Calvin Ogletree, 25, brother of Cowboys receiver Kevin Ogletree, was shot in front of the luxury car rental shop he opened last summer in St. Albans. “I heard one or two pops,” a witness who works nearby told the News. “I didn’t know if it was gunshots. Then I saw some excitement. I got a streak of fear. I saw a bunch of people running and screaming.”
According to police, Ogletree was standing outside his shop, Calli Exotic Car Rental, around 3 p.m. yesterday when two men approached him. Investigators believe the men were arguing over money; in the course of the argument, at least one of the two suspects pulled out a gun and shot Ogletree in the head. The suspects fled on bicycles and are still at large; Ogletree was taken to Jamaica Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.
“He’s a nice guy who was always smiling,” said Jack Glasser, who owns King’s Auto just above Ogletree’s business. “I feel bad for him.” You can see a commercial for the rental car place here, and a video tour of Calli Exotic Car Rental here.
