It's been about two weeks since the city lifted its ban on cell phones in schools, so it's about time mobile-related madness came to light. Last week, a freshman at a Brooklyn high school was accused of taking a photo up his new, young teacher's skirt and sharing it on social media. Way to ruin it for everyone, teens.
According to the Post, a 15-year-old student at John Dewey High School in Gravesend snapped the lewd photo in Spanish class. His teacher, who had reportedly been hired recently and "looks young," according to another student, had been standing at the chalkboard at the time. "It has really traumatized the teacher," a fellow staffer told the paper.
The student was sent to the principal's office, and a source with the Department of Education tells us that they're taking appropriate actions against him. His mother, meanwhile, took the opportunity to do a little slut-shaming, telling the Post that the teacher was "dressed inappropriately." Other students at the school denied this particular protestation, noting that the teacher dressed normally.
The cell phone ban was lifted on March 2nd, with some educators voicing concern that phones would be distracting for students. At Dewey, students are requited to keep their phones in their backpacks or lockers during the school day, a rule the student allegedly violated.
